At the beginning I would like to mention Kranidi, a little lively, panoramic mountain-village. A Health-Center guarantees good medical treament by private physicians. The towns described below can be reached by public transport as well as all of the major intersections and other important places. Kranidi is very popular for it´s good shopping possibilities for example: supermarkets, bakeries, butchers shops etc. |

Ermioni: is 7 km´s east of us. Similair to many other villages, it´s a fishing village and port. Thursday is the day to go shopping as a big market offers many good shopping possibilities. (almost like a bazaar). From here and from Porto-Heli you can reach all the little neighbouring islands by hydrofoil. The duration of the crossing can take a few minutes or up to 2,5 hours. (Many locals use the hydrofoils to get to work in Athens.) |

Porto-Heli: 6 km´s is south of us. It is probably the most modern city on the island. Here you can find several taverns, discos, music-cafés and even an open-air disco on top of a hill. Porto-Heli is a natural port with a very small channel to the open sea. There is only one big landing stage where every year many yachtes dock. This is truly a paradise for all water-sport fans. |

Many Athen families and individuals spend their holidays here. Throughout the entire season there is no problem concerning mass tourism. There are a few hotels on the island, but no such things like classy restaurants etc. Instead we have several nice taverns. In summer Porto-Heli is the most popular city, even though it never seems to be overcrowded. If you want something special just take a water-taxi to one of the neighbouring islands of Spetses or Hydra. You can also take the hydrofoil to Poros, Egina and even Athens. Peloponnes-Fans enjoy all of these possibilities, but enjoy being back home in the evenings. |
