Ethukala-Negombo-Southwest Coast (Sri Lanka, that means happy Lanka)

Vacation home on the beach of Negombo at the Indian Ocean.

The "Peacock-Bungalow" is situated in Ethukala/Negombo, 19 A St. Anthony Rd. 12 km north of the airport Katunayake/Colombo, where are the most beautiful beaches and hotel places of Negombo. The airplanes sometimes cross the area, but fly high enough and do not disturb, but you are quickly at the beach and not for some hours in the bus like to the places at the southcoast. Inside or in front of the airport Taxidrivers or private drivers ask you, if you want taxi.
Private drivers you pay not more than 500 Rupees (6,- Euro), tuc-tucs 300 Rps.

The bungalow is ca. 100 m from the beachroad, from where you get free entrance to the beach between or through some hotel places.

• Beachhotels with pool, bars, restaurants, postoffice, 3 supermarkets and many souvenir shops and jewellery shops are close by.
• The bus to Negombo you reach directly at the corner of our street. One way less than 10 Rps!
• 100 m from the beach
• Nearest international airport: Colombo - Katunayake (12 km)
• Nearest train station: Negombo (4 km)

Activities:

Fishing, cycling, diving, paragliding, sailing, surfing, swimming, tennis, wind-surfing.

Equipment:

All floors with nice floortiles, all ceilings made of wood, all windows with mosquitonets. Warm water from solarheating. Use only boiled water or waterbottles, only for your safety. Normally there are no problems with the water, but better to use the filterpot first and after use the water for your tea.
Drinks are much inexpensiv as in Europe, but bear and liqueur you get only in restaurants or in the liquorshops, normal supermarkets are not allowed to sell that.
