Pfaffendorf is located in the middle of the Saxon Switzerland, above the left side of the Elbe – river in the area of the so called “Stones” (Pfaffenstein, Papststein, Lilienstein, Festung Königstein, etc.)
It is an excellent starting point for every kind of trips. Besides the whole Saxon Switzerland you can easy reach the sand stone formations behind the border to the Czech republic. Also you can get by ship or train through the unique Elbe – valley to Dresden or to the “Golden Town” Prague.

For historical interested people it is lucrative to visit the world famous forts “Festung Königstein” and “Burg Stolpen”.

It is also recommended to see a play at the natural theatre “Felsenbühne Rathen”. Here are played among others the original stagings of the Karl May stories.
