La Desirade self catering guesthouse is located in the village of Pointe au Sel in the district of Au Cap on Mahe Island. This puts it about 10 minutes away (by car) from the Seychelles International Airport and 25 minutes away (by car) from the small capital city of Victoria.

Au Cap is a district rich in history and culture. Not too far from La Desirade can find a re-built colonial house at La Plaine Saint Andre, featuring a restaurant and museum next to the distillery of the locally produced Takamaka Bay rum (10 minutes on foot) and craft village (5 minutes north by car) in the Domaine de Val de Pres, where craftsmen and craftswomen sell all sorts of souvenirs and artifacts. Within 5 minutes walking distance from the craft village is the Creole Institute, another colonial building.

Excursions:


Pointe au Sel also borders with the district of Anse Royale, where one of the most beautiful beaches in southern Mahe can be found. You can reach the beach and the amenities of the district such as hospital, police station, post office and restaurants within 5 minutes by car or bus. Anse Royale is also the home of the newly inaugurated University of Seychelles.

La Desirade is within walking distance (within 5 minutes maximum) of 4 grocery shops, a bakery, restaurant and casino. It is also close to the Katiolo nightclub (7 minutes by car).

By car from the Airport
At the exit turn left on the East Coast Road, heading south.

By car from Victoria
Follow all directions to the East Coast Highway and drive south past Seychelles International Airport.

We offer a transfer service to and from Seychelles International Airport to all our guests. If you prefer to take a taxi, most drivers already know of the guesthouse and can take you there directly. You can also rent a vehicle either from our partner, Echo Car Hire at a preferential rate, which you can collect at the airport, jetty or other preferred location, and drive to La Desirade.

A non-refundable deposit of 3 nights stay is required to confirm your booking. At present we do not accept online payments. Therefore, the deposit can only be paid by means of a bank transfer into the account which we will provide in the email reply to your booking request.

The balance of the total cost of the stay can be paid in cash in Seychelles Rupees, US Dollars, British Pounds or Euro, or by credit/debit card. We accept Visa and Mastercard.

There is also a 15% govt tax to be added to the final invoice.
