Levkogia is an old Cretan village near Plakias with a population of about 400. The beaches are walk away (about by car or bicycle). The villagers are friendly. It has 1 supermarket, 4 kafenions, and 2 restaurants.

Plakias is about 6 km away. Plakias is a former fishing village that accommodates a moderate number of tourists today. It has bus service 5 times a day (or you can get there at any time, of course, with your own transportation). Plakias has a diving school, shops, supermarkets, discos, restaurants, post office, pharmacy, and a German physician. From Plakias you can take busses to all of Crete’s sightseeing destinations. Various rental cars are also available in Plakias.
